This Privacy Policy describes how the company that operates the CarSnag service ("CarSnag," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the CarSnag mobile applications, the carsnag.ca website, and related services (together, the "Service"). "CarSnag" is a brand name; the legal name and mailing address of the operating company are set out in the Contact section below. This policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information we collect includes:

• Account information. Your mobile phone number (your login, used to send one-time login codes) and any optional profile details you choose to provide (such as name, email, and address), which are used to prefill documents you create and for support.
• Content you create. Your saved searches, saved leads and notes, reminders, document form entries, and any feedback or support messages you send.
• Device and notification data. A notification token so we can deliver alerts, basic device information used for session management and abuse prevention, and, when a free trial is used, a trial-usage indicator maintained through Apple and Google device services that contains no personal details.
• Subscription information. Your subscription tier, status, and renewal dates, linked to your account by an anonymous identifier. Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never receive or store your payment card details.
• Usage data. Standard technical logs generated by using the Service (such as request records and connection information, which can include IP address and approximate region), used for reliability, security, and abuse prevention. The website collects analytics information about how it is used, which may involve cookies or similar technologies.

2. Third-Party Listing Information

The Service aggregates vehicle listings that sellers have posted publicly on third-party marketplaces, which can include seller-provided details such as a name and contact information. We process this publicly posted information solely to present listings to users. Sellers who want a listing removed from CarSnag can contact us (see below); the listing also remains on the marketplace where it was posted, which is the authoritative source.

3. How We Use Personal Information

• To operate the Service: authenticate you, run your saved searches, deliver alerts and reminders, and generate documents you request.
• To manage your subscription and reflect your store purchases in your account.
• To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse, including enforcing one-trial-per-person and account limits.
• To respond to your feedback and support requests.
• To maintain, develop, and improve the Service.
• To send you the communications the Service exists to deliver (alerts, login codes, service notices). Any marketing communications are optional and include an unsubscribe mechanism, consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Sharing

We do not share your personal information with any third party for that party's own use. Like most online services, we rely on a small number of service providers that process limited information strictly on our behalf and on our instructions to operate the Service, for example, payment processing by Apple and Google, delivery of text messages and notifications, and hosting infrastructure. Each is permitted to use the information only to provide its service to us. Some of this processing may occur outside Canada, where the information may be accessible to authorities under local law.

We may disclose information if and to the extent required by law (for example, a court order), or as part of a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply.

5. Retention

We keep account information while your account is active, technical logs for a limited period, and billing history as needed for accounting and dispute purposes. After account deletion we retain only minimal records that are needed to prevent free-trial and billing abuse and that do not identify you by name, along with anonymized statistics.

6. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the app. Deletion removes your identifying information (phone number, profile details, notification tokens, and generated documents) and deactivates your searches, subject to the minimal abuse-prevention retention described above. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription; cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings, since billing is managed by the stores.

7. Your Choices and Rights

• Notifications: control or disable them in your device or in-app settings (the Service is alert-based, so disabling them limits its core function).
• Marketing messages: unsubscribe at any time via the mechanism in the message.
• Access, correction, deletion: you may request access to or correction of the personal information we hold about you, or deletion of your account, by contacting us. We respond to verified requests within the timelines required by law.
• Complaints: contact us first and we will try to resolve your concern; you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

8. Security

We protect personal information with industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted transport for all app and website traffic, restricted access, and login by one-time code rather than stored passwords. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and the regulator as required by law.

9. Children

The Service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always posted at carsnag.ca/privacy with its "Last updated" date, and material changes will be communicated through the Service.
